What is Database?
Published
Also known as: DB.
Think of a very well organized spreadsheet that lives on the internet. Each type of information has its own tab, and the app reads from it and writes to it.
Not every app needs one. If only you will use it, on a single device, saving the data in the browser itself with local storage is enough. If the data has to show up on several devices or for several people, then you need a database.
When you connect a database, check who can read and change each piece of information. See how to tell if your app is exposing personal data.
